Prompts & AI engines
Two building blocks power everything in Visibility AI: the prompts you track and the engines you track them on.
Prompts
A prompt is a real question a buyer might ask an assistant - for example, “best project management tool for small agencies” or “top alternatives to [competitor].” These are the moments where a recommendation gets made.
Good prompts are specific and buyer-shaped: the actual phrasing someone would type when they’re close to choosing. Start with a handful that matter most to your business, then broaden coverage as you learn which ones move the needle.
AI engines
An engine is an AI assistant Visibility AI can ask your prompts on - such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity. Each assistant can answer the same question differently, name different brands, and cite different sources.
Why track across several engines
Your buyers don’t all use the same assistant. Appearing strongly on one but missing on the others leaves gaps you can’t see if you only check one place. Tracking your key prompts across multiple engines gives you the true picture - and shows where a competitor is quietly winning on an assistant you weren’t watching.
